Hit the road, Mailman

To Karl Malone: Hit the road, Jack . . . don't come back! I hope you enjoy being a bench rider in Los Angeles. If you think you will ever see the all-time scoring record with your name on it while playing for the Lakers, good luck. They will never let you break "their player's" record. And the other self-absorbed stars of L.A. want to have the points just as badly as you do.
It is my hope that in a year or so, fans of the NBA will say, "Karl . . . Karl who?" With his move to the Lakers, Karl will add another second-place spot to his name, right next to his two second- place NBA finishes: that of second-place scoring leader.
At least now someone else will have to listen to Karl's complaining.
