A.J. Sargent, 75, beloved father, husband, grandfather, great- grand-father, brother, and uncle, passed away October 27, 2003 from a brief illness.

A.J. was born to James Elliott and Charlotte Hardy Sargent on July 21, 1928 in Monroe, Ut. He married Carol J. Goodfellow in 1948; they were later divorced. He married Connie Mae Stillmanon,

March 9, 1952 in Bingham, Utah.

A.J., after growing up in Sevier, Utah and attending South Sevier High School, served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant, stationed in California and Georgia.

A.J. and Connie were residents for many years in Bingham Canyon and Sandy, Utah, later moving to Midvale. A.J. worked for many years for the A.J. Mackay Co. and for 40 years for Kennecott Copper Corporation, retiring in 1991. A.J. enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his family. He looked forward to the annual deer hunt, and fished the many rivers and lakes of Utah.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie; sons, James (Bonne), Sandy; Jon (Michelle), Sandy; Carl (Karen), Taylorsville; daughter, Marge (Gordon) Johnson, Beryl, Utah; sisters, Elma (Wendell) Snow, Yakima, Washington; Dona Anderson, Richfield; Anna Mae Ogden, Richfield; also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; sister, Marja Sargent; brother, Milo Sargent; brothers-in-law, Melvin Anderson and Homer Ogden.

Public graveside services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East.

A private family gathering will be held at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State prior to the graveside service.

All those who would like to join the family to celebrate the life of A.J. should join with the family at the graveside service.
