John Delbert Alley, Jr., beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed from this life on November 10, 2003.
He was born May 23, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Romalie Alley. He was raised in Chicago. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bradley University, Peoria, IL.
After graduation from Bradley, John decided that Chicago was not his kind of town. He stuck out his thumb and hitch-hiked west, ending up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He used his skills in chemistry as a "mud engineer" in the oil patch, in Rock Springs, Wyo. It was there, that he met his sweetheart Annette Johnson. She is the love of his life. They were married in the Ogden Utah Temple, April 12, 1979. John and Annette were truly blessed when their daughter Kari was born. She was a joy to his life. He loved being her daddy.

The Alley's lived in Rock Springs until 1985, and have since resided in Sandy. John was a truly intelligent man. He loved to solve problems. He had a thirst for knowledge. He was kind and generous to all. He enjoyed music of all kinds. He especially loved our two cats. He had a great passion for outdoor sports, whitewater rafting, backpacking Yellowstone, skiing, riding his bike, and especially paragliding at the Point of the Mountain. He loved to be soaring, feeling the wind in his face.
John is survived by his wife, Annette, daughter Kari, his mother, Romalie Horak, brothers Ed and George, sisters Jeanette and Sandy, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John, stepfather Bill Seagrave.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hidden Valley 1st Ward Chapel, 1450 E. Raddon Rd. (12000 So.) with a viewing Friday, November 14, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe So. Valley, 1007 W. So. Jordan Pkwy. (10550 So.) and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset
