Charitable organizations and like-kind donations needed this season:

Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake (675 E. 2100 South, Suite 270, 322-4411) New or gently used games, puzzles, coloring books, crayons, pencils, paper, educational workbooks, arts and crafts supplies, sports equipment (such as soccer and basketballs), educational software, kitchen equipment, and electronic equipment (such as radios, cameras, TVs or VCRs).

Catholic Community Services of Utah (2570 W. 1700 South, 977- 9119) Gently used furniture, household goods and clothing are always needed to help set up people in the Immigration and Refugee Resettlement Program. Food contributions for side dishes to be prepared for Christmas dinner (turkeys have already been provided).

The Children's Center (1855 E. Medical Drive, 582-5534, Martha) Sponsors and Sub-for-Santa help for clients, food and household supplies.

Children's Justice Center of Salt Lake County (257 11th Avenue, 569-4381) New or gently used stuffed animals, ethnic Barbies, Kens and clothes, children's books (ethnic varieties), Etch-a-Sketch and Magna Doodle (or similar), word find/puzzle books for teens, Connect Four game, coloring books, activity books, small child-size quilts, curtains for interview room, kitchen utensils, mixing bowls, kitchen towels, bathroom rug sets, small portable refrigerator, CD player, silk plants, holiday decorations, poinsettias, wreaths, copy paper, colored copy paper, cases of paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex and any type of kitchen cooking supplies.

Children's Justice Center of Wasatch-Summit County (Heber City, 435-657-1000) Lap quilts and new toys, kids' snacks, sodas and juice.

Crossroads Urban Center Emergency Food Pantry (347 S. 400 East, 364-7765) Non-perishable food items (canned vegetables, tomato sauce, peanut butter and milk most needed), frozen turkeys, personal hygiene products (especially razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant), disposable diapers size 3 and larger and baby formula.

Crossroads Urban Center Thrift Store (385 W. Indiana [850 South], 359-8837 K.C. or Janice) Gently used blankets and sleeping bags, new underwear for adults and children, all sizes of new or gently used socks.

DDI Vantage Early Head Start (555 E. 4500 South, Suite C-250, 266- 5189) Car seats, diapers/wipes of all sizes, formula, blanket/ quilts, bootees and hats for newborns, burp cloths, bibs, Snugli's, children's clothes, strollers, newborn kits (2 onesies, 1 receiving blanket, 2 burp cloths, 2 baby wash cloths and 4-6 newborn diapers in a large Ziplock bag), playground materials (such as vinyl fencing, dirt, grass seed, non-toxic child-safe flowering bushes, shade trees, canopy, plastic benches and picnic tables of all sizes), kitchen utensils and appliances, stackable washer and dryer, comfortable couches, rocking chairs, waiting-room-type chairs, Polaroid cameras and digital video recorders.

Heritage Center (10 E. 6150 South, 284-4237) New toys to distribute to charity organizations, quilts and blankets for auction Dec. 11 and 12.

International Rescue Committee (530 E. 500 South, Suite 207, 328- 1091 Ext. 103) Furniture, household items, linens, cleaning supplies, toiletries and school supplies.

LifeCare Bank (1025 S. 700 West, 887-1229) Holiday food items (such as stuffing mix, mashed potato mix, yams, turkey breasts, hams, bananas, oranges, fresh bread, pies, and sugar-free goodies for diabetic clients) and holiday gifts for seniors (such as books on tape, videos, large print media, puzzles, warm fuzzy pyjamas, robes, slippers, potted plants, chocolates, lotion and perfume).

Magna FACT, Inc. (9124 W. 2700 South, 250-4811) Sub for Santa can always use money if anyone wishes to donate cash. Families can adopt another family for Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner or to provide Christmas. Diapers (all sizes), wipes, baby food, baby clothes, baby blankets and quilts, formula, diaper bags, baby furniture, shoes (or shoe vouchers) for adults and children, winter coats for babies, children and adults, household furnishings (dishes, pots and pans, towels, sheets, furniture and appliances), beds, bed frames, mattresses and dressers, gloves and hats for winter wear, fresh or frozen meat, personal hygiene items (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, dish soap, laundry soap, brooms and dust pans, hair brushes and combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste, Band-Aids and Tylenol, garbage bags, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, deodorant (men and women), body lotion, Ziplock bags (large and small), skateboards, dolls, board games, puzzles, doll furniture, baseballs, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, skates, cars and trucks, baby toys (rattles, teething, etc.), stuffed toys, Hot Wheels, wagons, small toys that would fit in stockings (balls, yo-yos, Crayons, coloring books, activity books, reading books, bubble bath, colored pencils, marking pens, bubbles, etc.).

Midvale Youth Peer Court (655 W. Center, 255-0227) Two laptop computers and printers in good condition, 10 6-foot banquet tables, 100 stackable or folding chairs in good condition, meeting space in the Midvale area that can be used on Monday evenings, two rooms to hold court hearings (approximately 250 square feet each, need to hold two banquet tables and 15 people), one room for intake and waiting (approximately 300-400 square feet, needs to hold two tables with seating for about 15 people), one room to hold "Choices" classes (approximately 400-500 square feet, needs to hold 30 people classroom style), one room to do tutoring (approximately 300-400 square feet with four-five tables for tutors and youth to study), one room for an office that can hold a desk, chair, conference table and up to 10 people.
