Race event to raise funds for Red Cross

PROVO -- Run for Red, a 5k race and 2k walk/run, will be held at Independence High School, 636 N. Independence Ave., on Saturday. The event will raise money for local disaster victims and emergency preparedness training.

Katrina Pope, disaster services coordinator for the Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, said the race will help facilitate programs the Red Cross provides to the community.
