According to a recent survey taken by Harris Interactive on behalf of Sears, the nation's moms spend an average of $208 per child on back-to-school clothing. Twenty percent will spend more than $350 per child.

According to the mothers, their children's friends are the main influence on what their kids want to wear. More than half the moms said friends were the main influence while 29 percent said TV shows were the main influence and 17 percent said their kids got their fashion ideas from teen magazines.
