Obituary: Ruby Bell Allred Phelps Draper

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Ruby Bell Allred Phelps Draper, age 95, passed away Nov. 25, 2004.

Born April 11, 1909 in Vernal Utah daughter of James Martin and Margaret Lindsay Camp Allred. She married Heber LeRoy Phelps, later divorced, married Edward Draper who preceded her in death. She was the last surviving of 13 children. She was educated in Uintah County Schools. She graduated from Uintah High School and LDS Seminary in 1928. Active member of the LDS Church, holding many callings including counselor in the Relief Society and Primary and president of the Young Women's. She was the secretary at the Genealogical Convention and worked in the Salt Lake Temple as a receptionist and ordinance worker. She worked as a seamstress making prom dresses and wedding gowns.

She is survived by her children, Trudy (Tom) Cannell and Margaret Phelps; three grandchildren, Robyn (Ray) Erkkila, Vickie Bixby and Kelly Phelps; eight great grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren and one on the way; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband; son, Merlin Phelps; granddaughter, Terri Barnett; grandson, Scott Phelps; parents; ten brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vernal City Memorial Park, 1700 South 500 East, Vernal, Utah. A viewing will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City.
