OREM -- The four performers coming to Orem for "An Evening On Broadway" have an impressive list of credits to their names.
David Osmond, Kim Cote, James Conlee and Brian Clark are all well known to lovers of "Miss Saigon," "Les Miserables," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and "Jekyll and Hyde."
Each has toured nationally and performed for regional audiences in a variety of productions.
They are also willing to donate their time to help the Mountain View High School choir by performing two concerts on Feb. 19.
"Last year, it worked out so beautifully to have Dolora Zajick come," said choral director Rosemary Mathews. Zajick is an international opera singer who trained with Mathews when she was younger. She starred in last year's fund-raising event as a favor to her former teacher.
The four celebrities featured this year are friends of one of the choir member's father, Randy Blosil.
"We were tossing out ideas at a planning meeting and he (Blosil) gave us these names," Mathews said. "We are very excited. What beautiful voices they have."
Osmond is the lead singer in the "The Osmonds, The Second Generation" and is the band leader for "The David Osmond Band." He also toured with "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
Cote has performed on cruise ships traveling the world and performed in "Little Shop of Horrors" as Audrey, "Fiddler on the Roof" as Chava, and "The Boys Next Door" as Sheila.
Conlee has toured with the national tour of Miss Saigon and was a featured soloist with the Utah Symphony and Kurt Bestor's Wasatch Christmas Concerts.
Clark has toured as a lead with "Les Miserables" and performed in "Oklahoma," as Curly, "Forever Plaid," as Smudge, "Jekyll and Hyde," as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and as the pharaoh in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
Each will perform solo as well as in duet and ensemble numbers featuring the music of "Les Miserables," "Man of La Mancha," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Joseph," "Cats," "Miss Saigon" and "Big River."
In addition, the school dance troupe "Orchesis" will perform. New York cheesecake, a specialty layered beverage and soft pretzels will be on sale at intermission.
Mathews said each of the 80 students planning to go on tour to Orlando, Fla., for the "Disney Honors Choral Invitational" event needs $1,000 for trip expenses.
Two hundred choir members will be participating in the Broadway benefit concert in two performances Feb. 19, at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m., in the newly refurbished auditorium at the high school, 665 West Center, Orem.
Tickets are $10 each. Call 227-2400 ext. 255 between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to purchase tickets.
