Rocky's sales tax hurts S.L.

0 Comments | Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jun 13, 2005

Recently I was in the market for a new Subaru. Both Nate Wade Subaru in Salt Lake and Doug Smith Subaru offered excellent service and -- all things being equal -- I would have preferred to have bought my car from Nate Wade. Unfortunately, because of Salt Lake City's higher sales tax, Nate Wade's best price was still higher than its competitor in Utah County.

As a Davis County resident, I find it ironic that Rocky's taxes resulted in my driving through Salt Lake City twice without ever stopping. Even better, the tax I paid will remain in Utah County.
