City Library (210 E. 400 South, 524-8200) -- "Rigor Vitae: Life Unyielding by Carel Pieter Brest Van Kempen," featuring paintings by the artist, and "Carried Aloft: The Nature of Flight," features selections from the Utah Museum of Natural History's permanent collection. Both exhibits run through Jan. 21. Also "Elizabeth I: Ruler and Legend," features images reproduced from rare books, manuscripts, maps, letters, paintings and artifacts from the Newberry Library collections, through Feb. 16.
