Career women's golf league to provide lessons
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), May 4, 2006
OREM -- Utah Valley State head women's golf coach Denise Larson has announced the first annual Business Women's Golf League to be held for three weeks in July and the first week in August at Cedar Hills Golf Course.
The Business Women's Golf League lesson program has been organized and specialized for the specific needs and interests of business women. The lessons will cater to golfers of all levels. League instruction will be provided by experienced professional golf instructors.
The goal of the league is to teach the fundamentals of golf, familiarize women with the golf course, and help each golfer feel comfortable in any golf setting by teaching golf course rules and etiquette.
Larson also hopes that through involvement in this program we will see an increase in the number of women interested in the game of golf in Utah.
Participants in the league can look to network with other successful local business women, create new business ties, and learn a game that can last a lifetime.
Sessions: Three afternoon and evening time slots are available. Registration per session will be limited to 25 women, on a first- come first-serve basis. More sessions will be added if needed.
Registration: To register, contact Larson before Friday, June 30. Late applicants will be added into available spots or onto a waiting list. Call 801-863-6269 or email at: larsonde@uvsc.edu.
Tuition: The golf league will cost $200 for more than five hours of golf instruction and a round of golf with a cart at Cedar Hills GC.
