A 78-year-old woman died on a Delta Air Lines flight over the weekend. Her death wasn't discovered, however, until the plane landed in Salt Lake City.
Virginia L. Thompson was traveling with her husband aboard Delta Air Lines flight 503 Sunday night.
The flight originated out of Fort Lauderdale and was diverted to Dallas before landing in Salt Lake City. Thompson's final destination was Reno, said Salt Lake City International Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann.
Thompson's husband noticed his wife was unresponsive after 11:30 p.m., Gann said. Paramedics were then called to the plane, she said.

She was moved off the plane and paramedics performed CPR in the jetway, Gann said, before she was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unknown Tuesday when Thompson died or how long her death went unnoticed.
