Body found near peak

Deseret News (Salt Lake City),  Aug 17, 2006

The body of a 25-year-old Kaysville man was found near Farmington Canyon's Francis Peak Wednesday evening.

The circumstances surrounding the man's death are under investigation. His name was not released Wednesday.

The man was not reported missing, but when officials notified the family that the man's vehicle had been in the parking lot for two days, they mentioned he hadn't been home or to work either, and his status was changed to missing, said Davis County Sheriff's Capt. Kenny Payne.

Search and rescue teams were called in to comb the mountain, and the man's body was found around 9 p.m. The body was located in rough terrain and wasn't expected to be moved off the mountain until early today, Payne said.
