Vegas woman killed when car rolls on I-15
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Aug 17, 2006
CEDAR CITY -- A Las Vegas woman was killed Monday when the roof of her car collapsed on her when the vehicle rolled several times.
Katalina Toki, 20, was driving with four passengers, also from Las Vegas, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Wade Breur. She was heading south on I-15 eight miles north of Cedar City when she fell asleep and drifted into the median. Breur said she overcorrected right and then left, causing the small passenger car to roll multiple times. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened at about 4:30 a.m.
All but one of the passengers were wearing seat belts, and that individual was thrown from the vehicle but not killed. The four survivors were taken to the hospital with various injuries, Breur said.
