Lucas donates $175M to his alma mater USC

Deseret News (Salt Lake City),  Sep 21, 2006

"Star Wars" creator George Lucas, who honed his skills as a young film student at the University of Southern California, is giving a little something back to his alma mater -- $175 million.

The gift from the Lucasfilm Foundation is the largest in the school's history, USC officials announced Tuesday. His donation topped the previous school record of $120 million, made in 1993 by Walter Annenberg.
