Local architects design energy center in Idaho

Construction has started on the Center for Advanced Energy Studies in Idaho Falls, a futuristic research and education center designed by GSBS Architects of Salt Lake City.
CAES is a joint project of the Department of Energy, Idaho National Laboratory and three Idaho universities -- Boise State, University of Idaho and Idaho State University. The 55,000-square- foot structure will be located adjacent to the Idaho State University campus and the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls.

The building should be complete in June 2008. Half of the structure is laboratory space and will house approximately 175 faculty, researchers, staff and students.
