Granite Mill buys BDL Mill in bid to increase presence

Salt Lake-based Granite Mill said Monday it has acquired BDL Mill.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Both companies have worked on museums, temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, libraries and hotels. Founded in 1907, Granite Mill designs, builds and restores custom woodwork and furniture. BDL Mill was founded in 1978 as a division of Bud Bailey Construction and has operated independently in the same facility as Granite Mill since December 2005.

Granite Mill said the move will increase its market presence in California, Arizona and Hawaii; increase its employee count; and add new equipment resources and expertise. The combined company expects to have revenues of more than $12 million in 2007, with 60 percent from outside Utah.
