-- Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Christopher Pace has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of JoDee Jensen of Cedar Fort. Pace is a 2007 graduate of Lehi High School.

-- Air Force Airman 1st Class Thomas E. Cardon has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Neil Cardon of Spanish Fork. Cardon is a 1997 graduate of Timpview High School.

-- Army Spec. John C. Ramirez has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas forward operating base to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. U.S. troops serve in South and Southwest Asia, Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and in numerous other countries.

Ramirez is a motor transport operator normally assigned to the 155th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, El Monte, Calif.

He is the son of Ana M. Ramirez and stepson of Alex E. Landaverde of Saratoga Springs.

-- Air Force Airman Skyler R. Tiede has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Tiede earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course. He is the son of Carl Tiede of Orem.

-- Air Force Airman John Iker has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Iker is the son of Richard Iker of Springville and a 2006 graduate of Landmark High School, Spanish Fork.

-- Private Jared H. Turner has graduated from Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson, S.C.. He missed scoring a 300 on his physical test by one push-up. He graduated in vehicle mechanics. He is the son of Virgil and Vicky Turner of American Fork. He graduated in 1998 from American Fork High School.
