Workers Compensation Fund has begun distributing a dividend totaling $22 million.
The dividend will go to a majority of policyholders, with each receiving about 8 percent of their earned premium attributable to the 2006 calendar year.
Lane Summerhays, WCF's president and chief executive officer, attributed the large dividend primarily to improved workplace safety.
WCF provides worker compensation insurance for more than 60 percent of the companies in Utah. With the most recent distribution, WCF has returned more than $266 million in dividends to policyholders since 1992.
