Columnist Ryan Cooper of the Springfield, Mo., News-Leader writes that "there is no room in the big tent of the Republican Party or the Christian faith for hate." Cooper, who indicates that he is a returned LDS missionary, also notes that "Christ didn't reject anyone who sought to believe in his teachings.
