Red Cross sponsors blood drive today
0 Comments | Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Feb 18, 2008
The American Red Cross invites all eligible blood donors to donate at the Presidents Day Blood Drive, today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 6616 S. 900 East.
Many businesses and schools will be closed in observance of Presidents Day, but the Red Cross Donor Centers throughout Utah will be open. Every day the American Red Cross must meet the needs of accident victims, premature babies, people undergoing treatment for cancer, and other patients in local hospitals. The blood must be there before it's needed in order to save lives.

"The Presidents President's Day Blood Drive occurs at a time when area blood supplies are rebounding from reduced donations due to winter weather. If the weather has prevented you from giving blood lately, this is the perfect time to donate" said Stacey Phillips, public relations manager for the American Red Cross. There will be refreshments in the canteen at the Salt Lake Center to help celebrate Presidents Day, and all donors will be entered to win dinner and Jazz tickets for two.
