Roads littered with trash

Deseret News (Salt Lake City),  May 8, 2008

For many years we have been appalled when driving through Las Vegas as we noticed their highways littered with trash. Smugly we said, "Not in Utah." Recently, after traveling in some of America's Southern states, we realized we had become desensitized to the horrible trash problem along Interstate 15 in Utah. We drive between Utah Valley and Salt Lake City twice a week and cannot believe the number of garbage and construction trucks speeding along with debris flying from their trailers.

Our roadsides are an embarrassment. Visitors are sure to think that we don't care about our beautiful state.
