BYU men lead MWC championships

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Brigham Young University men lead the way with 114 points entering the final day of competition at the 2008 Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Colorado State is in first place in the women's team standings with 91 points.
On the men's side, Colorado State is second with 53 points, while Air Force stands third with 51. New Mexico is in fourth place with 36 points, while Wyoming is fifth with 33 and TCU is sixth with 19.
BYU holds second place for the women with 51 points, followed by New Mexico with 37. TCU and Utah are currently tied for fourth place with 25 points apiece, while San Diego State (20), Wyoming (10), Air Force (9) and UNLV (5) rounding out the women's team scores.

Utah sophomore Lauren Endersen won the women's 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:58.21, while on the men's side Air Force's Ian McFarland captured the event with a time of 30:44.89. Endersen's mark is fifth all-time in MWC Championship history.
The country's No. 1 discus thrower, Leif Arrhenius, won the men's discus with a regional qualifying toss of 194-6.
BYU's Bryce Bergen won the men's high jump with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 6-11 3/4. Teammate Chandler Goodwin won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with the second-best time in MWC Championship history. His time of 8:57.48 is an NCAA regional qualifying mark. On the women's side, the Cougars' Angela Wagner won with a time of 10:23.83.
