Pierce misses mark on MMA
0 Comments | Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jun 4, 2008
Come on, Scott Pierce. When he starts his column out by saying he's going to get mail about his opinion (May 30), I think he knows he has already missed the mark. Just because Pierce doesn't like mixed martial arts, that doesn't mean others (including me) don't want to see it. In fact, because of his column, I watched the CBS broadcast Saturday night. My complaint about the broadcast had more to do with the length of the bouts.
Many in this country enjoy the fast-paced action of MMA. Is it a violent sport? Absolutely. But those who don't want to participate or watch don't have to. If "Dancing With the Stars" is more your speed, more power to you, but please don't bash those of us who like this sport.
