Entrepreneur and author Andre Carter will be the featured speaker at a business innovations seminar taking place Monday at the Grand America Hotel, 555 S. Main, in Salt Lake City.
The Innovators Network event takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. It is co-hosted by the Utah Science Technology and Research initiative.
The free seminar is designed to provide a quick guide to business success and will include presentations about attracting venture capital and securing patent protection for products and services. Additional presenters include local venture capitalist Ken Krull of Mercato Partners and local intellectual property attorney William Athay of Holme Roberts and Owen LLP.
Carter is a former manager at IBM and wrote the book "Little Blues: How to Build a Culture of Intellectual Property Within a Small Technology Company."
