Motorcycle crashes, strikes 4 bystanders
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jun 24, 2008
HERRIMAN -- Four people are recovering from injuries they suffered when a motorcycle crashed into them.
Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies said it happened about 9 p.m. Sunday when people in the neighborhood of Emmaline Drive were out socializing.
"These two motorcyclists came in at a high rate of speed and lost control," Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Paul Jaroscak said Monday.
One slid into a front yard, and the 17-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. The other motorcycle slid into a lawn, and the 19- year-old driver struck four people.
"A 3-year-old had a broken leg, a 21-year-old mother pushing her 8-month-old in a stroller had minor injuries and a 1-year-old in a stroller was knocked over," Jaroscak said.
The accident is still being investigated, but neighbors estimated the motorcycles' speeds at 70 mph. No citations have been issued.
