IH is a top workplace for IT professionals

Deseret News (Salt Lake City),  Jul 1, 2008

Intermountain Healthcare is one of the best 100 workplaces in the country for information technology (IT) professionals, according to IDG's Computerworld magazine, published Monday.

Intermountain was the only Utah company to make the top-100 list.

The annual feature uses a comprehensive questionnaire about company offerings such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. They also surveyed more than 31,000 IT workers, whose responses factored heavily in determining rankings.

"Being among the best places to work in IT means crafting a blend of employee advantages that includes the potential for flexible hours, competitive pay, excellent benefits, a supportive leadership environment, opportunities for ongoing training and advancement and, ultimately, the feeling that you'd like to stay with the company for a long, long time," said Computerworld editor-in-chief Scot Finnie.
