Lehi studies position of railroad crossings
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jul 11, 2008
Railroad crossings on busy streets in Lehi could be replaced with underpasses or overpasses if there's enough money.
City engineer Lorin Powell proposed the idea earlier this year to representatives of Utah Transit Authority's FrontRunner.
There are two FrontRunner stations planned for Lehi. City officials say moving the trains over or under the street could cost tens of millions of dollars.
City Council members this week gave Powell approval to continue to negotiate with state officials about the proposed crossings.
