HURRICANE -- A 13-year-old boy is dead after an all-terrain vehicle crash in some sand dunes near here.
The crash happened about 8 p.m. Monday near the Sky Ranch housing development. A family member came upon Jeffrey Cheney, pinned underneath the ATV.
"Nobody was riding with him. They found him wearing his helmet. He fell off or it (the ATV) rolled on him," said Washington County sheriff's detective Nate Abbott.
Cheney was pronounced dead at the scene.
