Topic: RSS Feed'Hancock' barrels onto DVD Tuesday
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Nov 21, 2008
The following DVDs will be released Tuesday, unless otherwise noted:
"Beautiful Ohio" (Genius, $19.95) -- Chad Lowe directed this '70s- period drama about about the rivalry between two brothers (David Call and Brett Davern). Michelle Trachtenberg co-stars.
Not rated, probable PG-13 (profanity, sex, brief partial nudity)
"Fred Claus" (Warner, $28.98) -- ** -- Your enjoyment of this so- so yule comedy may depend on how you feel about its motor-mouthed star, Vince Vaughn. Paul Giamatti co-stars.
PG (violence, vulgarity, mild profanity) -- Jeff Vice
"Hancock" (Sony, $28.96) -- ** -- This darkly comic superhero tale, starring Will Smith, is one of the more frustratingly inconsistent movies in recent memory.
Special features: Behind-the-scenes mini-documentaries; unrated versions (also $28.96, or $34.95 for two discs) include additional footage cut from the theatrical release.
PG-13 (violence, profanity, vulgarity, brief gore, slurs, brief drugs, brief partial nudity) -- Jeff Vice
"Meet Dave" (Fox, $29.99) -- * -- What's really baffling about this awful, science-fiction comedy is that Eddie Murphy chose it to be a follow-up project to "Dreamgirls."
PG (vulgarity, violence, slurs, profanity, brief partial nudity) - - Jeff Vice
"Space Chimps" (Fox, $29.99) -- ** -- Filled with lame pop- culture references and groan-worthy puns, this cartoon pales in comparison to other, recent animated hits.
G (violence, vulgarity, slurs, mild profanity) -- Jeff Vice
