Why is Michelle Llewellyn (Readers' Forum, Dec. 16) making a political statement concerning an audience standing up to give a singer a standing ovation? When people appreciate a good presentation, be it a song or dance, they react by applauding and even standing. That's a reaction from their heart. No political statement whatsoever.
