Plane slides off runway at Salt Lake airport
0 Comments | Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Dec 20, 2008
A twin-engine Paiggio turboprop plane slid off the center runway at Salt Lake City International Airport Friday night because of weather conditions and excess speed.
Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann said the plane became stuck in heavy snow, but no injuries or damage were reported. The private aircraft was carrying two crew members and six passengers, but Gann did not know where they were traveling from.
The plane slid off the runway at about 9:30 p.m. The incident did not disrupt the airport's operations, Gann said.
