Colbert has falcon named after him

It helps to have fans in high places. Just ask Stephen Colbert, who has had a peregrine falcon making its nest atop City Hall in San Jose, Calif., named after him.

The male falcon was dubbed "Esteban Colbert" by Mayor Chuck Reed, an admirer of the Comedy Central star. The falcon is the third wild bird or mammal to be named after the host of "The Colbert Report." Breeders at the San Francisco Zoo named a bald eagle Stephen Jr. in 2006.
