Jason R. Jones has been named equity partner with the firm of Thorpe North & Western LLP. Jones has been with Thorpe North & Western since October 2001. His practice has focused on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents in the mechanical sciences and a variety of trademark and copyright matters. Jones' education includes degrees from the University of Utah.

Perry S. Clegg, David J. Langeland and Benjamin J. Holt have been elected as officers of the Cyberlaw Section of the Utah State Bar. Clegg, chairing the section, is the former vice chairman of the section and practices as an intellectual property attorney at Bateman IP Law Group. There, he assists clients in domain name, e- commerce, licensing and patent and trademark litigation. Langeland, the section's vice chairman, is an intellectual property attorney at Callister Nebeker & McCullough, where he assists clients in licensing and general corporate matters. Holt, the section's secretary, is an intellectual property attorney at Bateman IP Law Group where he assists clients in certain infringement and trade secret matters.
C.R. England has announced several personnel moves. David Robbins is the new vice president of corporate sales and business development. Robbins has worked for a pair of other companies. Dave Houston has joined England as director of dedicated sales for the Southeast Region. He previously worked for another company. Steven Stein is director of sales for dedicated fleet services. Stein comes to England with transportation experience with three other companies. Matt Johnson has joined the corporate finance department as controller. Johnson was previously with another firm. Michael Woolley has been named associate general counsel. Woolley is a former shareholder at one firm and served as an associate attorney at another. Ryan Snow has joined England Logistics, a division of C.R. England, as vice president and corporate counsel. Snow, a licensed real estate agent in Utah, previously worked as general counsel at a real estate company.
Alan Sparrow, headmaster at Rowland Hall, has been elected president of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools' board of governors. His one-year term begins July 1 for the organization of more than 100 independent schools in an eight-state region.
Dustin "Dusty" Harris has been named to lead a new development and investment office in Salt Lake City for international real estate firm Hines. Harris transferred from Hines' development office in Orange County, Calif., and will be responsible for sourcing and executing new development and investment opportunities in the Salt Lake area. Since joining Hines in 2005 in Orange County, Harris has been responsible for the entitlement, financing, development, construction and leasing activities for an office building in Irvine, Calif., and was instrumental in acquiring two industrial buildings and leading the design and entitlement efforts for development of a six-building development project. Harris' education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
Cole Siggard and Colin England have joined First Western Advisors as investment adviser representatives, and Roger Reese has been named by the company to lead a new division. Siggard will focus on securities analysis and financial planning for individual and institutional clients. He has been working as an intern for First Western and will be transitioning to a full-time representative when he graduates in finance from the University of Utah this spring. England will focus on retirement planning for both individual and institutional clients. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah. Before graduating, he worked for a trucking company for six years. Reese will lead First Western Advisors Insurance Services, which will provide insurance counsel to First Western Advisors' clients and benefits and related services to other businesses. Reese has nearly 20 years of experience as an insurance agent. He previously operated his own agency, where he provided and managed group benefits to businesses and offered life, health, disability, long-term care, Medicare supplements and dental insurance to individuals and families. Reese also worked at a law firm, where he designed and placed insurance with the clients of attorneys who specialized in estate and business continuation planning. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah.
