Shane Robert Barney, passed away May 22, 2009. Born March 20, 1967 in Murray, Utah. Graduated from Evanston High School. He received a scholarship for High achievement in drafting.

Shane worked for many years

using composits creating skies and snowboard. He loved Drafting, Drawing, Machining and Programing. But his real passion was music. Shane won a Silver Medal at the Canmore Highland Games in Calvary, Canada for a Bagpipe Solo he performed. He played Bagpipes at many functions including for the Govenor of the State of Utah.

Shane was very creative and mechanically inclined. He mad many sets of Bagpipes. He was a longtime member of the Salt Lake Scots.

Shane leaves behind his parents, Lenice and Cathy Maynard; sister, Jennifer Decker; brother, Jason (Billie) Maynard; nephews, Dylan, Nathan and Jays; niece, Sara B.; many aunts, uncles and cousins and close friends, a very special uncle, Albert Silvey who Shane loved to play guitar with.

Shane; We could have loved you better, but we could not have loved you more, God Bless and we will see you at the next Highland Games, Mom and Dad.

Graveside services Wednesday, May 27th , 2:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So., in Sandy, where friends and family may call one and a half hours prior to the services. For online condolences see www.larkinmortuary.com
