Morgan Jay Austin, 78, passed away June 9, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah.Born January 17, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Fred Taufer and Leola Alberta Spencer Austin. Married Afton Earlene Jones December 7, 1950 in Granger, Utah; sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1965. He was active in Scouting, little league baseball and the Old Timers Club. Liked to golf, camp and travel. Retired, after 43 years, from Union Pacific Railroad. Most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Afton; children: David (Jean) Austin, Jim (Kristy) Austin, Bryant (Ralin) Austin, Laurie (Scott) Mitchell and Dean

(Cindy) Austin; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; siblings: Fred (Olive) Austin, Bonnie (Jack) Christensen and Don (Brett) Austin; sister-in-law, Pat Austin. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the West Valley 6th Ward, 3963 South Peachwood Dr. (3450 W). Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 9:45-10:40 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
