Grant awarded for Summit marketing

The Summit County Restaurant Tax Advisory Committee recently awarded a grant of $100,000 to the Park City Chamber of Commerce/ Convention & Visitors Bureau. The grant is to be used toward destination marketing that will drive either summer or winter overnight visitors to Summit County.

Among stipulations of the $100,000 grant are that it can only be used for destination marketing or advertising programs that are approved by the Chamber/Bureau Marketing Council, a committee of Summit County business leaders representing various sectors of the local hospitality industry. The funding cannot be used for administrative expenses such as salaries or day-to-day operations.

The funds are expected to be used for a regional television advertising campaign, with the ads slated to run from late June through mid-August. They will encourage people to visit the Park City area in the summer months and enjoy the wide variety of available activities there. The ads will run on all four Salt Lake City-based television stations and will be scheduled around the early-morning and late-evening news programs.
