Gun education needed

0 Comments | Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jun 23, 2009

Truly accidental firearm deaths among children are rare. Still, the goal is zero. Unfortunately, another child has lost his life to unsafe firearm handling.

We have sex ed. We have drivers ed. We have these courses to keep our children safe and to teach them to make good decisions. I believe Utah should immediately include age-appropriate firearm safety instruction in all levels of public school. The NRA Eddie Eagle program is a good place to start.
