Loa Draney Call
1931 ~ 2009
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Loa Draney Call, age 78, of Bountiful, Utah passed away peacefully at home, on June 16, 2009, among family members who loved her.Loa was born in Auburn, Wyoming, March 19, 1931 to Samuel Ebeneezer and Elma Undrea Draney, the 12th of 16 children. She graduated from Star Valley High School in 1949, married Mayo White Call in the Idaho Falls Temple, May 31, 1950, later divorced.
Loa earned her beautician's license while living in Laramie, Wyoming. She loved the gospel and enjoyed each and every church calling, especially that of stake missionary. She also volunteered to teach Institute classes. For the past 15 years, missionaries in her ward have received monthly poetry-filled inspiring letters from her. She loved attending the Bountiful Temple.

She loved dancing ballroom and the swing (jitterbug), writing poetry, and learning and lecturing about nutrition and health. As a nutritional counselor, she traveled the world, published three health recipe books, and helped hundreds overcome health problems through holistic, alternative medicine.
Survived by two sisters, Vada (Duane, deceased) Smith, Afton, WY; Ruth (Robert, deceased) Lichfield, Brigham City; and two brothers, Dale (Sandi) Draney, Minnesota; and Evern (Cheryl) Draney, Ogden; her three children, Roger (LeeAnn) Call, Great Falls, MT; Lori (Kelly) Burningham, Bountiful, UT; and Debra (Steven) Nickle, Alpine, UT; also 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Ruth Elaine (Imri - deceased) Draney, Pocatello, ID; Joyce (Wendell - deceased) Draney, Tygee Valley; and Renee (Gleno - deceased) Draney, Auburn, WY; and many
nieces and nephews.
Her cheerful optimism and encouragement will be greatly missed. The family thanks CNS Hospice and the wonderful friends who helped with her care.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Mueller Park First Ward, 825 East 1800 South, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Mueller Park First Ward and at an additional viewing at the church on Friday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Lakeview Memorial Estates. Services conducted by Warenski Funeral Home (801) 763-5000.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the LDS Church Missionary Fund would be appreciated.
