National Labor Relations Board sues DHB Industries Inc. subsidiary

Long Island Business News, Dec 13, 2002 by Ben Abelson

The National Labor Relations Board has filed a federal lawsuit against Point Blank Body Armor, a DHB Industries Inc. subsidiary.

The lawsuit seeks an injunction to end Point Blank's alleged harassment of union supporters at its factory in Oakland Park, Fla. Since August, Point Blank has been involved in a bitter dispute with workers who are seeking representation by UNITE, the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees.

A hearing before a federal judge is scheduled for Dec. 16.

The NLRB petition asks the United States District Court Southern District of Florida to reinstate three workers who were fired and rehire others who are on strike.
