South Country Central School District names new asst. superintendent

Timothy Regan was appointed assistant superintendent for human resources at the South Country Central School District, which includes the communities of East Patchogue, Bellport and Brookhaven.

Previously, he was director of personnel for Western Suffolk BOCES.

Hofstra University promoted Tara Vassallo to director of alumni relations. She will be responsible for alumni service and marketing, reunions and homecoming, revenue-generating programs and fund- raising. She also will manage alumni publications.

Previously, she served as director of alumni programs. Vassallo is a Hofstra alumnus twice over, having earned a bachelor's degree in 1997 and a master's degree in education in 2002.
