Mapes appointed district superintendent by Nassau County educational

James D. Mapes was appointed district superintendent by the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Nassau County (Nassau BOCES). He will work as BOCES' executive officer and district superintendent. Mapes' responsibilities will include leading Nassau BOCES and acting as a regional representative of the state's Commissioner of Education.
Currently, he is superintendent of Van Buren Intermediate School District in Lawrence, Mich.
