First National Bank of Long Island to open branch in Merrick

First National Bank of Long Island is opening a branch in Merrick in September, said spokeswoman Laura Ierulli.
The move is part of a bigger expansion plan onto the South Shore for First National, which has 24 branches, three of which are in Manhattan. The rest are closer to the North Shore.
