CPI Aerostructures Inc. lands $6.6M fighter plane order

CPI Aerostructures Inc. said that the U.S. Air Force has ordered $6.6 million in parts to be used in its T-38 Talon aircraft, used to train fighter pilots.CPI (AMEX: CVU) said that it will provide the Air Force with 71 sets of structural inlets, the metal parts through which air passes into the plane's engine.

The equipment is being installed as part of the aircraft's propulsion modernization program in which engines are being upgraded.The latest order was placed under a 10-year contract from 2002 to 2012, expected to total $61 million. CPI has received $33.8 million in orders, including the one announced today.
