Long Island Business News, Feb 22, 2008 by Alison Snyder

NAME: Carol C. Markman

TITLE: Partner

ORGANIZATION: Feldman, Meinberg & Co.

NEW ROLE: Member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council

Carol C. Markman, a partner at Syosset accounting firm Feldman, Meinberg & Co., has been appointed to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council.

Markman is no stranger to high-profile roles: She has served as president of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners and chair of its Tax Policy Committee, and has been called to testify before the U.S. Senate on the Economic Growth and Tax Reconciliation Act of 2001 and the Alternative Minimum Tax.

In her new role, Markman and ten other council members will discuss key tax administration issues with the IRS commissioner and division heads.

Mark Meinberg, managing partner at her firm, said Markman is well- deserving of the new appointment.

"Her accomplishments in Washington and her contributions to our clients, our firm and the profession have been significant and meaningful," he said.

A Salisbury resident, she also is active in the community. She is treasurer of the Executive Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of Nassau County and involved in many CPA and business organizations.
