Hauppauge-based Orbit scores contract to support Turkish Air Force

Hauppauge-based software and systems integration company Orbit International said Thursday it secured a contract worth $400,000 to supply two power supplies to the Turkish Air Force. The devices will help power the Air Force's thermal imaging system.

Orbit's Power Group, Belhman Electronics subsidiary, secured the order.

From the statement:

Expected deliveries under this order consist of qualification units scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008 and production units to be delivered approximately 150 days after qualification unit approval.

The units to be delivered are based on Behlman's DCS series of Custom COTS power supplies that are used in a number of U.S. military ground based, mobile, shipboard and airborne applications. The customer has indicated there is a minimum potential for follow- on production orders that are estimated to exceed $600,000.

Mark Tublisky, President of Behlman Electronics, Inc., stated, "The business strategy of Behlman's custom division remains focused on developing business opportunities by providing power solutions to our customers by utilizing proven COTS power solution platforms modified for specific requirements. We are encouraged that our last two major COTS orders have supported international sales opportunities and we believe there is a growing international marketplace for our products."

Orbit International Corp. is involved in the manufacture of customized electronic components and subsystems for military and nonmilitary government applications through its production facilities in Hauppauge, New York, Quakertown, Pennsylvania and Louisville, Kentucky. Its Behlman Electronics, Inc. subsidiary manufactures and sells high quality commercial power units, AC power sources, frequency converters, uninterruptible power supplies and associated analytical equipment. The Behlman military division designs, manufactures and sells power units and electronic products for measurement and display.
