CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi built a 23- point lead early in the first half and never looked back as it defeated the Air Force women 76-57 on Monday.
The Falcons' Mollie Peters led all scorers with 17 points, but it wasn't enough to make up for five Islanders scoring in double figures, led by Kristin Rogers with 14.
Air Force (3-6) was cold to open the game and Texas A&M-CC (6-5) jumped on the Falcons, building a 29-6 lead with 8:24 left in the half. Morgan Bennett ended Air Force's drought and hit a 3-pointer, but the damage was done. The Falcons trailed 41-20 at halftime after shooting 31 percent as compared to Texas A&M-CC's 54 percent.
