BOYS BASKETBALL
Lewis-Palmer 72, Sierra 58
Lewis-Palmer (8-1, 2-0 Metro South) relied on a big fourth- quarter outburst to down visiting Sierra (2-5, 1-1).
Sierra kept the game close against No. 9-ranked Lewis-Palmer. Sierra was down by only five at the end of the third quarter. But Bobby Burling scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth-quarter rally. Burling's efforts help to offset eight first-quarter turnovers by Lewis-Palmer.
Delano Billingsley also ended the game with 17 points for Lewis- Palmer.
Falcon 61, Salida 49
Falcon's (6-3, 2-0 Tri-Peaks) Zac Talbot and Brandon Schawe led the host team to the win over Salida (3-6, 0-2) in an emotional game for the entire school.

Fountain Valley 36, Colorado Springs School 33
Host Fountain Valley (1-6) squeaked by Colorado Springs School (2- 3) in the final minute of a low-scoring defensive battle.
With 1 minute remaining, junior Jeff Fugate hit a 3-pointer to put Fountain Valley up by one. Colorado Springs School turned the ball over and on the following possession, fouled Fountain Valley freshman Max Winkler. Winkler hit both free throws and CSS could not even the score as time expired.
Fugate led all scorers with 19 points, including four 3- pointers. Senior Chris Cadigan led Colorado Springs School with 12 points.
Liberty 67, Harrison 38
Liberty (2-5) turned a comfortable nine-point lead at the end of the first quarter into a 29-point romp over visiting Harrison (1-4).
Luke Smith, Ryan Mattice and Brandon Powell each scored in double figures for Liberty with 15, 13 and 12 points respectively. Tyrees Bingham led Harrison with 15.
The win snaps a three-game Liberty losing streak.
Mesa Ridge 74, Sand Creek 49
Five players scored in double-figures as Mesa Ridge (3-3, 2-0 Metro South) defeated host Sand Creek (1-8, 0-2).
Kyle Reutner and Kevin Jones each scored 15 points, with Reutner hitting three 3-pointers, to lead the Mesa Ridge offense. John Vails scored 13, Gary Cooper scored 12 and Matt Ko ended the game with 11. Dennis Trujillo scored a team-high 12 for Sand Creek.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Kiowa 47, Calhan 44
The free-throw line was the difference as Kiowa (7-1, 2-0 Black Forest) defeated visiting Calhan (3-5, 0-2). It was Kiowa's fourth win in a row.
In a contest where the score was close throughout, Kiowa went 18- for-27 from the free-throw line while Calhan shot 14-for-29. Besides being Kiowa's top scorer with 15 points, Missy Whitman also went 8- for-10 from the line. Leslie Miller had a big second half, hitting three 3-pointers. Stephanie Strange led the Calhan shooters with 10 points.

Kent Denver vs. Cheyenne Mountain, Sertich Ice Arena, 4 p.m. Monday
This will be Cheyenne Mountain's first game since suffering its only league loss last Monday against Doherty.
Kent Denver will have to find a way to stop Cheyenne Mountain's Bobby Lewis who has scored 15 goals this year, including two hat tricks. Kent Denver's Andy Wald has already recorded a shutout in two games this year.
Cheyenne Mountain's goaltender Greg Lindquist is second in the lead with a .934 save percentage.
