THIS SCHOOL YEAR: Thanks to a $23 million bond issue approved by voters in November 1999, the district will open 2 new schools this year - Prairie Winds Elementary and Creekside Middle School.

"The number of students and the size of the buildings were getting kind of crowded before," said Ted Belteau, the district's executive director of student services. "Now with 2 middle schools and a 5th elementary school, that will give us more breathing room for those students."
