TEXAS CHRISTIAN at AIR FORCE

What: Home opener at Clune Arena.

When: 4:05 p.m. today.

Radio: None.

Records: Air Force is 0-1 after losing 79-47 Friday to the University of Denver. Texas Christian is 1-0 after a 117-50 thumping Friday of Sam Houston State.

Coaches: Ardie McInelly is in her first season at Air Force. TCU coach Jeff Mittie is 42-22 in his third season.

Series: TCU leads 4-0.

Notes: Air Force is without senior co-captain Rozi Russ, who broke her left (non-shooting) hand Thursday in practice. She wants to make a Dec. 5 return at Colorado. ... TCU was 25-8 last season and the Big 12 Conference champion. ... Air Force, 3-25 last season, holds a losing streak of 16 games. ... Air Force freshman guard Latoya Howell had 10 points and five steals in 18 minutes Friday. Matched up against DU star Nikki Weddle, Howell showed at times why she was the Air Force Academy Prep School MVP last season. "I knew who she was; I know everything about my opponents," Howell said. "I think I did all right the first half." McInelly proudly said, "I think we have a freshman point guard who played pretty well." ... Senior center Brooke Bauer came off the Air Force bench to grab six rebounds, notch three steals, score three points and block a shot. She also made several nifty passes, although she got credit for only one assist. "Brooke is a real nice passer," McInelly said. ... Air Force shot only 26.2 percent (16 of 61) from the field. "Offense is going to take some time for us," McInelly said. "We have to be consistent. DU exposed our weakness, which is not being able to hit the basket very often. We'll get there."

Next game: vs. Illinois-Chicago in the Illinois-Chicago Thanksgiving Tournament, 2:35 p.m. Saturday.
